3rd International Conference on Religious Diplomacy
The 3rd International Conference on Religious Diplomacy was held online on 11, 12 and 13 January 2022, on “The International Dimension of Mount Athos.
Cradle of Culture and Spirituality”.
The conference was organized by the Institute of Foreign Affairs, the General Secretariat of Hellenes Abroad and Public Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Church and Culture Laboratory). The conference was supported by the magazine Foreign Affairs The Hellenic Edition and Aegeas AMKE.
A Discussion on Libya
The Institute of Foreign Affairs organized a discussion on Libya, and in particular on the upcoming elections, the situation in the country, and its position in the region, in North Africa, and in the Middle East in general.
The keynote speaker was Dr Aref Ali Nayed, presidential candidate and chairman of the Ihya Libya Party. Ms. Aya Burweila from the European Public Law Organization also participated.
The Kurdish Role in a Changing Region
Foreign Affairs Institute with the collaboration of www.foreignaffairs.gr and www.tribune.gr organized a discussion on the Kurdish role in the ever changing region of Northern Africa and the Middle East in general, on Monday, October 25, 2021.
The discussion was held between Mrs Zozan Alloush, member of the Syrian Democratic Council, general Hajar Aumar Ismail, Senior Advisor at the Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs, general Kino Gabriel, former Spokesman of the SDF forces in Syria, and Mr Yerevan Saeed, Research Associate, The Arab Gulf States Institute in Washington.
Kurdistan in international Relations
The Institute of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with www.foreignaffairs.gr and www.tribune.gr, organized a discussion on the role of Kurdistan in International Relations, on Wednesday, October 6, 2021.
The discussion was conducted in English between the Dean of the School of Social Sciences of the University of Kurdistan, Dr. Bavar Mustafa and the Chief Analyst of TAM-C Solutions, Dr. Ceng Sagnic.
Geopolitical evolutions in eastern Mediterranean and the broader Middle East
Foreign Affairs Institute has organized a nearly 2 hours online discussion on the geopolitical evolutions in eastern Mediterranean area and the broader Middle Eastern region. The focus was at the role of Greece as a pillar of stability in the region and also its role as a crucial western partner in alliances within the region.
2nd International Conference on Cultural Heritage
The Institute of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (EKPA), is holding the 2nd International Conference on Cultural Heritage, in 2-3 June 2021. This year’s conference addresses “Hellenism and Islamic Culture: Positive Sources and Prospects for Interaction.”
This timeliness of this topic lies in its coincidence with the 200th anniversary of the establishment of the modern Greek state, as well as with the renewed engagement engagement of Middle East states with Greece.

Foreign Affairs Institute organized a discussion on the Kurdish point of view on Syrian affairs, on Friday, July 16, 2021.
