The 2nd International Maritime Security Conference, held on April 2, 2025, at the Eugenides Foundation Conference Center in Athens, concluded with significant insights into the vulnerabilities of maritime trade and related infrastructure.
Focusing on the central theme, “Threats to Maritime Trade and Maritime Infrastructure”, the event was a critical platform for discussing the emerging challenges faced by the maritime sector. Co-organized by the Foreign Affairs Institute (FAINST, www.fainst.eu), the Council for International Relations–Greece (CfIR-GR, www.cfir.gr), the International Propeller Club, Port of Piraeus, along with the Makinder Forum and the School of Maritime and Industrial Studies at the University of Piraeus, the conference attracted key stakeholders from the maritime and security sectors.
The event was honored with an insightful keynote speech by Mr. Vasilis Kikilias, the Minister of Maritime and Island Policy. Prominent figures from Greece and around the world also participated, contributing to an engaging and forward-looking dialogue on maritime security and resilience.
